In 1993, the City Rescue Mission opened Community Village
as a separate division of the Rescue Mission for seniors from all walks
of life. The Village is licensed as a ninety-bed Home for the Aged, which
provides assisted living for seniors. The Rescue Mission subsidizes many
village residents because their Social Security benefits do not cover
the cost of their care.
The Village offers a variety of services and appealing
activities for residents. We focus on health with an excellent assortment
of menu choices, an exercise room, and even a hydro-therapeutic spa to
provide comfort and good hygiene. Outings are planned, craft classes are
held, and the annual Strawberry Festival is a time that we share Community
Village with thousands of neighbors!
Community
Village also offers an Accelerated Care Unit. The Accelerated Care program
features activities designed especially for those seniors with added challenges.
The daily schedule ranges from mild chair exercises to interactive routines
like reminiscence therapy. These bolster the senses and help stimulate
daily vitality.
The
Village is also recognized as the premier Adult Day Care Service provider
in the Saginaw area. Adult day care is an option for area seniors who
might otherwise face isolation while care-giving loved ones work outside
the home. Adult Day Services not only provide therapy, but also opportunities
from bathing and a full range of salon service.
